It's probably not on par even in the slightest, but it got cold last night here as well. I bring that up because it was predicted to reach 130 F or so, so everyone dressed for that kind of weather, but it only got to like... 100 I think (I don't know F that well, we use C here).

Still cold like a motherfucker. I used to be able to stay in the house naked during the Winter, but it's challenging on my body to do that now. I have to wear a t-shirt, boxers, socks, and fingerless gloves. This is what happens when you don't do anything physical for nearly 2 years.

They're making new cellphones that can turn into laptops. With the rate of technology producing new products, is it even worth it anymore? Buying a new phone every 6 months might not seem like shit, but the expenses would add up over a period of time.

Dinny: Australia's been in the news here with the crazy weather you're having... Is everything okay where you're at?

Dinny's all right, she lives in Adelaide. Queensland's underwater, though.

I'm good with that. Doctors, dentists, and lawyers, etc, the people who can run their own practices have a shorter life expectancy by 5 years. All that stress from the work.Dr. ARM wrote:You would be the manliest dentist ever.

So... Apparently an astrologer has decided there's reason to insert Ophiuchus into the zodiac.

Some guy made this comment which kinda makes sense.

Uhh, whoever wrote this article should look into this stuff in more depth, cause these changes apply to those born after 2009, so none of us on the web should be affected. The stars were at our old places when we were born (before 2009), so we were born under those signs. It doesnt matter that the sun’s position and the stars changed, because we were still born when those signs were with us.
So, are they going to be including Ophiuchus in daily horoscopes now? Because that's what it seems like me.

Re: The Whatever Thread
This topic of conversation erupted in another forum I frequent (a non-astrology forum nonetheless) and it's just all bullcrap. If we do include Oph into the equation, it still only applies to people born after 2009, sooo....
Re: The Whatever Thread
so a few kids are actually taking this 13th sign stuff very seriously

Wait, what about sidereal? The sun and the planets have been in the same place they've been in for a while?
I thought it changed, because we're orbiting the milky way. Over the course of say, 100 or 1000 years, shouldn't the sun start to rise in different constellations?
I don't agree with the Ophiuchus guy inclusion. Scorpio-wannabe it sounds, the personality of that sign is ridiculous.

Re: The Whatever Thread
Good to see that you pointed that out. What most people don't know is that another form of Scorpio is the snake. I know the ophiuchus uses a snake heavily in its symbolism.Wags wrote:MKing wrote:

Re: The Whatever Thread
Grahhh.
Mom comes home, says she'll make chicken fries for herself and fish sticks for me, I reply, while busy drawing something, "Okay."
It was an absent-minded okay. Thought nothing of it or how I said it. But she says, "Say it with enthusiasm, or I won't cook anything for you." (She does this every now and again when she believes I'm not enthusiastic enough about something)
Being a particularly shitty mood, I said, "okay" again but with a little sarcasm. She retorts, "You should really take a step outside of yourself and see how rude you are sometimes."
Fuck, I can't even brood by myself whenever I feel the need to anymore without it being wrong. I'm not an intentionally rude person and she knows this. I don't understand why "okay" absolutely must be said with enthusiasm anyway. Or why whenever she's in a ridiculously fantastic mood I have to mirror it. Or what the hell was wrong with my first "okay."
And she's one to point the finger, with the way she treats my grandfather all the time. She is frequently rude when she confronts him.
Needed to vent, things have been bottling up and I didn't feel like bringing this into the negativity thread because this was closer (i.e. I was lazy) than the negativity thread.
